Breast Cancer Stamps HERE'S ONE SMALL and inexpensive thing you can do that will actually make a difference. As you may be aware, the US Postal Service recently released its new "Fund the Cure" stamp to help fund breast cancer research. The stamp was designed by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, Maryland. Instead of the normal $.37, this stamp costs $.45. The additional $.08 will go to breast cancer research. A "regular" book of stamps costs $7.40, this book of stamps is $9.00. Every extra penny will be used to fund breast cancer research. If all the stamps are sold, it will raise an additional $35,000,000 for this vital research. Just as important as the money is our support. What a statement it would make if the stamp outsold the lottery this week. What a statement it would make that we care. Two things you can do TODAY:
Many of us know women and their families whose lives are turned upside-down by breast cancer. By now, most of us also know that 1 out of 8 women -- if they enjoy a normal life expectancy -- can expect to be diagnosed with this dreaded disease. Yet, 30 years after the "war against cancer" began, a cure for breast cancer remains maddeningly out of reach. It takes so little to do so much in this drive. We can all afford the $1.60. This special issue stamp is available at the Post Office and Online. To reach the BREAST CANCER STAMPS order page online try the following: |
