Once upon a time, back in Houston - while Morris was still working at Texaco, Morris and my uncle, Lowell Rogers, who also worked at Texaco, decided to try the duck hunting around Bastrop Bay. I was the fortunate nephew who had the privilage of tagging along. Morris is still in my heart as I now, 44 years old, anxiously await the fall migration. There have been many times through the years, since last I saw him, I find him in my thoughts. Inevitably, he show up when the weather turns cooler and the blood starts a transition from fishing to hunting.
His most recent appearance was a couple of weeks ago, while fishing the same area where we duck hunted in Bastrop Bay, I spotted a huntable number of birds working the same pothole we used to hunt. This sighting was brought up in a conversation with Lowell and I asked if he heard from, or been in contact with Morris. He responded no, so I decided to run a search on the Internet “Morris Lang Texas”. Much to my delight, we found him… But much to my dismay – I read on…
Morris is still alive in my heart and will hunt with me always. He and Lowell planted a seed that has grown into a way of life. My thanks go out to God, for putting him in my path of life and making him the person he was. My heart goes out to his family and friends – I too know what a void his death has left.
Morris - Thanks for the memories!

I just learned about Morris' passing. We lost one of the greatest Christians I have ever heard about. He was a true "warrior" for God. His legacy lives on; I just forwarded his web address to a friend who is struggling with a cancer diagnosis. Your family is in my prayers.

I've spent the last hour or so reading the updates, lessons and looking through the photo album. I had the opportunity to work for, and learn from Morris around 1996 or so while I was a student at SFA studying Computer Science.
Morris was much more than an employer to me though, he was a mentor and a friend, I was blessed to have the paths of our lives meet even for a short time. Thank you to all who made this site possible. It is a beautiful and touching way to remember our friend.

Morris has been gone for one month today, but he is still touching the lives of others. I have a very good friend with whom I had a conversation today about dealing with his advanced cancer. I should have sent him to this website a long time ago, but just thought of it today. I know he will find things here that will bring him great comfort. Thanks, Morris for creating this website. I hope it will remain on-line for a very long time to come.

I knew Morris for most of my time here in Nacogdoches. He was a good man! He also was one of the most balanced individuals I have known in Academia. I never saw him without a smile and he will be missed. But, having helped my wife survive through cancer, I now understand the Lord uses people for different things. His purpose, I am sure was to be an inspiration and help to others with cancer. He certainly was to Susie and he was in her prayers each day.

I am so sorry to hear that Morris has passed on. I lost my own beloved husband three and a half years ago so I know how difficult the next months will be. Please keep the faith and know that, though we miss our loved ones who pass on, they now have eternal peace and happiness and are once again healthy and happy. May God bless you and your family in this difficult time.

To Morris' Family,
My sympathies to you during this time of grief. Even though Morris has left us for a much better place and he will no longer feel pain or have a broken body, we will still have an empty spot he used to fill. We will lift you up in prayer during this time and ask God to send the peace that only he can provide during a time like this.
Yours in Christ,

I had the great pleasure to be Morris' hunting partner and friend for 20 years. I have to admit to being truly blessed. We had so many great times driving the lakes in our go-devil. We never went on a hunt that we didn't enjoy or ever have an argument. Morris had the gift of loving people. He always made me feel like I was his best friend and the best veterinarian in the world. I think that that is what made him so special, he made everyone feel like they were best. I can tell you that it is hard to think about going on without my buddy, but I know he is demanding that I go foward and share his love of life with as many people as I can. So I will try to do my best and keep his spirit alive knowing he is watching me. I can only hope that I will gain his approval.

My sincere condolences to the entire family and my belated thanks to Morris for sharing his brave journey. What a remarkable man.
I found his site when I was looking for info for my mother, who was diagnosed with gliablastoma IV in Sept. 2002. She died December 25, 2003. Morris's journey gave me hope that someone could beat this wretched disease. He certainly gave it a good fight. God bless them both. I will keep you in my prayers.

Morris, I continue to pray for you,
Audrey, and your family. It was good to
see your 6/21/04 update in order to know
more specifically how to pray now. I'm
glad you're keeping your sense of humor
and I'm sure you're still trusting the
Lord. Paul says, in Romans 8:28&38, "And
we know that in all things God works for
the good of those who love Him, who have
been called according to His purpose. ...
For I am convinced that neither death nor
life, neither angels or demons, neither
the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything
else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is
in Christ Jesus our Lord." (The verses in
between are wonderful also.) May Christ
Jesus be with you continuously, is my
prayer. In His love, Jarrell

For many years I have experienced, how shall I say this, extraordinary events in my life. There have been visions, moments of clarity, and special gifts; I have seen the time of 333, on many, many occassions; the lights going out along the streets as I passed; and other occurances. I have yet to "write the book", or embrace the responsibility of the visions. Have you seen?

I've been "faithfully" reading your website for many months now. It was my husband's GBM that brought us both to faith, also, and it was that faith that gave us hope and smiles and a new church family. It's been too long since your last posting, and my concern for you makes me re-live my husband's own rollercoaster experience with GBM. I am praying for you, and I know that our Lord is with you and holding your hand. I know you know that! Blessings to you and your family.

I liked reading your journal enteries and
I learned that some people have so much determination and so much strength. I encourage You to keep your spirits high
and don't stress or depress yourself. That another really good thing I learned. I'm glad i read this because it
gives a person's point of view and I'm also going into the medical field. I'm
going to pre-med after I graduate high-school so I am very glad I read this. The journals even inspired me to write another poem. I just want to say to you to keep on pushing, moving until you reach the higher ground.

This is a bit bizarre. I just had a 333 experience this afternoon. My tv kept changing channels to that number. The funny thing is that my dogs had chewed out the number 3 out of it. Also, the other coincidence is that my husband just passed away from a brain tumor and I had never come across this site before. Keep up the good work and your health.

Hello, I am responding to a copy/ies of an e-mail print-out given to me from a friend/co-worker; the e-mail "333" part 1 and e-mail "333-part two-What 333 means to me." If ever ther was a moment that sent chills down my spine...I am not alone!!! This number has followed me for as long as I can remember. Not in just neat ways/places where your mind is likely playing tricks on you, but at critical times in my life. I will leave it there for now-I am intrigued that I am not alone with this number. For the record, I have not talked of this with many, and now I am sending it into cyberspace. I try to be a logical person, yet I cannot explain, at any level, the frequency if this number and how it relates to my life. If this message (333) has any relevance to you or someone in reference to the e-mail I mentioned earlier, I am curious to learn more of it's meaning. Thank you.

What an incredible website! Thanks for sharing your heart and faith. My family got a crash course in GBM this summer. My mom, Doris, is a retired school principal from Houston ISD. On May 26, 2003 she was diagnosed with GBM-grade IV. The week before the diagnosis she was playing a mean game of tennis with her friends. She had a slight seizure on her left side during a match, but kept playing. Since May she has had 35 radiation treatments at MDA, but her tumors were not reduced. We are seeking God’s guidance for other options now. Your website has helped greatly. My niece, Leanne, was diagnosed with leukemia at age 13 in Jan., 2002. She also has a wonderful ministry with her website: http://caringbridge.org/tx/leannescott/index.htm

Dear Morris, I was touched by your sad message the other day. I lost Allan in April with his GBM and the day after his funeral a friend brought my puppy Sophie to me. I never regretted a moment I helped Al to walk, dress or do anything. There were times when I felt tired and depressed, but I cherished every moment I had with him. It cheers me to read about your spirit and your ability to rise up to this disease. Allan was never able to deal with the realities of it, but he was endlessly gentle and appreciative for the days he spent on earth with me. We will always be here for each other in spirit.

Hello, Morris,
You don't know me, but I was Randy Buck's favorite cousin! Randy used to talk about you constantly! Jennifer & I are best friends and she was just here in Mesquite for a visit. She told us about your "C" Adventure and your website. We are so sorry that you are battling this illness, but are inspired by your faith, outlook and ability to use your situation to touch the lives of so many others. Isn't it amazing how God can use everyone of His Children to share the love of Jesus! HE doesn't just use his seemingly "perfect" children! He can use ALL OF US to teach, encourage and inspire His Flock....if we will JUST DO IT, AND YOU ARE DOING IT! And we love you for it!
Your website is awesome and so are you,
Peace and Blessings,
Katy

Morris-I think your website is great and
I check it daily to keep up with your
progress. We go a long way back and I
enjoyed working with you at SFA so much.
We had some good times when Billy C. was
here. I read this poem and thought you
would enjoy it.
THE COURAGE TO GO ON
God, when I am loney
And perhaps I feel despair,
Let not my ailing heart forget
That You hear every prayer.
Remind me that no matter what
I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for me
So long as I have faith in You.
Let not my eyes be blinded
By some folly I commit,
But help me to regret my wrong
And make amends for it.
Inspire me to put my fears
Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future try not to
Feel sorry for myself.
Give me the restful sleep I need
Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning
With the courage to go on!
You and your family are in my daily
prayers.

I grew up living at your house, and yet somehow, I've let myself loose touch with yall... When my mom told me about your diagnosis, I was just about in shock. I just wanted to tell you that I am so impressed by your manner and your attitude and your apparent dwelling in Christ. I pray for you often, as does my Sunday School class. I miss yall-- Love, Grace.

Dear Morris & Audrey, I love this web site. I can keep up with Morris and not bug Audrey on the phone so much. Like Kerry and Deborah said "this is news from the horse's mouth". I'm so glad that you have turned your recovery over to the Lord, because I, too, believe he is the Great Healer. I have had you on my personal prayer list from the onset of your cancer. Morris, I also love the humor you have inserted in this diary of your recovery. You were always the funniest dude at those big Christmas Feasts we used to have. I'm sending your WEB address to all the rest of our family, so get prepared for that Marshall Gang. We love all of you so very much.
Hang in there!

Morris,
I finally had a chance to check your latest three updates and want to let you know, again, that I'm continuing to pray
for you. My long-time motto, "Never Give Up!" is based on this verse: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at
the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give
up." [Galatians 6:9] It is clear that you have no intention of giving up and that's wonderful. But it is also clear
that you are doing much good by openly--to the world, actually--giving your testimony even as you are personally
going through an extremely severe ordeal that might cause most people to want to give up. Your hope is in the Lord
and that is more than wonderful! Therefore, I believe you will reap a harvest, which means abundant blessings from the
Lord. Perhaps your harvest will be souls who will come to know the Lord as a result of your testimony. We're standing
(and kneeling) with you as you are going through this ordeal. I pray, in His name, that you will be abundantly blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Morris. I'm glad more and more people are being drawn to your
website. It continues to be a wonderful testimony!
Jesus says, in Matthew 18:19, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth
agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in
heaven." James 5:16b says, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and
effective. [NIV] (If you have not already done so, you might want to read
from verse 13 in that chapter of James.) To me, these scriptures indicate
that the more of us who pray, agreeing with each other, the more powerful our
collective prayer will be and, therefore, the more effective the result will
be. This applies to your illness and recovery, to the war with Iraq, and to
any other need we might identify. Of course, the war is primarily why I am
encouraging people to pray Psalm 37 and Ephesians 6:12-18. But--as your
website indicates--there is a pretty large collective prayer going up for you,
too. And we can participate in prayer for the others who have been
identified as having the same kind of illness you have.

Hi Morris,
Mike Connolly told me about your website, and I have just spent about an hour going through it. What a GREAT website. You really are a gift...
I have a good friend who has a young daughter who is fighting a brain tumor (Maria had surgery a few months ago and is doing very well right now). I will send Celeste (Maria's mother) your website ASAP. I know it will be a great resource for her.
Tell Powder (Morris's lovely dog) I said "Hello."
Best wishes to you and Audrey, and I look forward to seeing the updates on your website.
Take Care,

Morris, it was good to see you and Audrey in Walmart yesterday. Thanks for pointing me to your Recovery Web Site. It is a wonderful testimony of our Lord's blessing on your life, your own personal courage, your family's devotion to you, your doctors, and your therapists. I've added you, and all these too, to my prayer list. For one thing, I will be praying that you will continue to have love, joy, and peace, as well as all the other fruit of the Holy Spirit, and complete healing. In Christ Jesus, Jarrell

Morris: It's truly amazing how an illness can change our pathways. I was mesmerized by the in-depth information you have incorporated on your web site. It is apparent that God has given you a new mission in life. He couldn't have picked a better person for it.
You know, I've pondered the question of "why?" many times in my life. That is, why does God give us "burdens" in life. I've found that those "burdens" are given, most times, to the people that can handle them and turn them into blessings. It's obvious you've done just that and you have developed a ministry that can touch many lives. You've certainly touched mine. Thank you.
Wishing you the best. I look forward to visiting with you soon.
