Seven Months During the last 7 months, my wife and soul mate Audrey has taken care of me and kept me alive. There is no doubt in my mind that the love and grace of Jesus Christ has worked through Audrey to help her to do so. During the last 7 months, when I was unreasonably demanding, Audrey would see that my reasonable demands and needs were met; when I was depressed, Audrey would work to bring me back up and remind me of my purpose and duty to keep on living. When I was hungry she would feed me, when I was thirsty she would give me a drink. When my appearance would decline she would insist on making me take the time to look decent. When I cried she would comfort me. She enforces the sugar free diet I require. She is always on alert 24/7 for a fall, and when I do fall, even at 2 AM, she is there in a split second to get me back on my feet and to encourage me to keep on trying. She always makes sure I receive the correct medicines at the correct time. She keeps our home spotless and well kept including the yard and the cars. Our home continues to be a show place. She keeps all the finances and works one on one with the doctors as required, making sure blood tests are done on time and faxed to the correct doctor. She follows up to be sure the docs actually read the blood tests. She makes sure our daughter is not neglected during the cancer fight and that cancer does not always dominate every day and that our daughter continues to feel special and not neglected. She rarely complains or demands about anything and when she does complain it is only to get some sleep and rest, which are not exactly unreasonable demands. Audrey has done all this and more for seven long months. How could one person love and support another person that much? Yet when asked How did I survive? I have not mentioned Audrey and her sacrifices. The lesson here is I believe Christ is working through Audrey to save my life, giving her the strength and wisdom she needs daily and she never even asked Him for help. In addition, Audrey does not even realize that is what is happening in our lives. How awesome is that? There is a lesson named AUDREY where I explain how Jesus Christ gave me Audrey to love and take care of. Little did I realize at the time what a tremendous gift I was given.
