My Challenge to You

Help someone. If not today, then someday. I don’t mean be pleasant and open a door for someone or fix a flat for someone. Although that is good, but to really help someone, you must first find someone who really needs help. Someone in crisis. Any cancer treatment waiting room for patients and family is full of candidates. Here’s the hard part, you do not have to give out profound advice or express pity. All you have to do is listen and be interested in their story. A hug at the end is a nice touch, but not required. All you really have to do is act interested and listen. It’s real easy to get them going. A simple ‘How are you?” will usually get them going. If you do not have cancer and they ask about you, simply tell them you have a friend with a brain tumor and tell my story. Tell them about this challenge. It’s OK to leave the web site address with them, if you think it may help them, but no need to push it on them. You cannot do this wrong. The one who will benefit most from the experience is you. Results are truly amazing and all you have to do is listen, and try to understand their fears, their pain and their suffering.
