Every Day is a Blessing

This lesson came to me from a friend. My friend’s dad was on his deathbed in the hospital being kept alive by assisted breathing. A living will was in-place, but even so my friend’s dad was conscious, able to answer yes/no questions by eye movement. On a Friday, my friend’s dad was asked if he wanted the machines removed. He indicated he did. A plan was set in-place to let him pass the following Monday. The family gathered over the weekend. The last two days of my friend’s dad’s life were filled with love, joy and goodbyes. Each day counted. Each day was filled with blessings. We should not wait to be on our deathbed to let each remaining day of our life to be filled with love and blessings.
